Lecture on Corporate Compliance For Foreign Companies In Malaysia At The Second Tsinghua University World Forum On Rule Of Law Conference In Beijing, China on 18 October 2019

Speaking at the Second Tsinghua World Forum On The Rule Of Law 2019 Session on Compliance in Crossborder Operation- Cornerstone for Success in Beijing today.

I explained the importance of legal risk management and compliance in the context of minimizing disputes in Belt And Road Projects and Investments.

I spoke about financial scandal and breakdown in compliance and rule of law in Malaysia under the previous government and the new constitutional and rule of law reforms brought in by the new government which restored Malaysia as the world’s best investment destination according to CEO magazine.

I talked about the importance of cross cultural understanding and communication and a few key compliance issues in the areas of anti corruption, foreign ownership and immigration visas and work permits often faced by Chinese Go Out Companies investing and operating in Malaysia.
